"Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur decorated the whole city in romantic dusky hues of pink to greet the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria. Since then, Jaipur has been declared as the Pink City."

"City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, Jaigargh Fort, Jantar Mantar, Birla Temple, Panna Meena ka Kund, Masala Chowk and Patrika Gate."

Favourite time of year to visit Jaipur

"Summers in Jaipur can get very hot and unpleasant for travelling. The best time to visit the Pink City is in winter, from October to March."

"The original name of the territory, Putucceri, is derived from the Tamil words putu “new" and ceri “village". The French corrupted this to Pondichéry. Or Pondicherry in English. "

"Weather-wise it’s great to visit between October and March. The monsoon is between July -September and the town can receive some heavy rainfall. "
