Tour Overview

This if we say so ourselves, is an outstanding itinerary, capturing the best of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia, one of our favourite regions for cultural adventure.Taking you from the shores of the Caspian Sea and the splendid history of Baku, through the pretty wine fields of Kakheti and up to the spectacular High Caucasus mountains, you will be following in the footsteps of Silk Road traders, Crusader Knights and Ottoman Princes. This region, lying at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, is packed with the legends of the Golden Fleece, stunning scenery and warm and hospitable people. It also, amazingly, remains relatively unknown even to many experienced travellers and this is the perfect summer trip for those wanting a diverse experience in an often overlooked part of our world.

Highlights

  • Explore on foot and discover the heritage and history of Yerevan, Tbilisi and Baku

  • Discover Armenia’s monasteries and learn more about the world’s first Christian nation

  • Enjoy traditional Georgian cuisine and the country’s signature qvevri-made wines

  • Soak up nature’s finest as you enjoy walks through the heart of the Caucasus Mountains

  • Get off the beaten track and stay in a remote village in Azerbaijan and mingle with the locals

  • Admire the region’s architectural wonders, from ancient cave towns to UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Vibrant European style cities contrast with the relaxed rural lifestyle in the countryside. All three countries have a wealth of history over many centuries that is largely ignored in the West despite its significant influence on our culture. Their food and hospitality is astounding (tip: elasticated waists essential) with a well-deserved reputation.
