Sandwiched between the Alps and the Adriatic, Slovenia is often referred to as 'Europe in miniature'. This small nation is home to beautiful mountains, stunning lakes, historic cities, pretty coastal towns, deep forest and rich farmland. In this new tour, centred on the capital, you've the opportunity to explore Ljubljana itself; Lake Bled and its island church; Piran, famous for its Venetian architecture; and the Postojna cave complex. You also have many chances to sample Slovenia's wonderful cuisine and local produce.

Morning flight from London (regional connections available) to Ljubljana with easyJet. Transfer to the BW Slon (or similar) for the duration of the tour.
Day 2 : Tour Of Old Town & Ljubljana Castle
Location: Ljubljana

Enjoy a morning tour of the Slovenian capital. Begin with the masterworks of architect Jože Plecnik, whose impact upon the city’s aesthetic character was significant. Next, stroll around the Central Market with your guide, sampling tasty seasonal produce. The tour finishes with a funicular ride to the castle with stunning views across the city. Your afternoon is at leisure.
Day 3 : Explore Slovenia's Famous Lakes

Embark on a full-day excursion to Slovenia’s two most famous lakes. At Bohinj, there is time for a boat ride and cable car ride to the summit of Mt. Vogel for lunch. The afternoon is spent at Lake Bled with its fairy-tale castle and famous 17th-century island church.

Day 5 : Urban Beekeeping Tour & Rooftop Drinks

Slovenia produces some of the world’s most celebrated honey, dating back to prehistoric times. Today the capital is home to 4,500 hives. Take a tour with local travel journalist and TV host Mojca Mavec and learn about the history of apiculture before heading to the rooftops to see some of the hives and enjoy a drink.
Day 6 : Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle & Piran Tour

Full day excursion to the west of Slovenia. With time to enjoy a tour of the wonderful Postojna Cave complex, widely considered to be one of the best in Europe. Continue to Piran to explore this pretty old town of this wonderful Venetian port town. Return to Ljubljana early evening for a farewell dinner at the award-winning JB Restaurant.
Day 7 : Fly To London

Travel documents will be sent approximately two weeks prior to departure (third party suppliers' policies may vary), unless your booking is made within six weeks of departure, in which case final documents will be sent as soon as possible.
