Arrive in Beijing and transfer to the luxurious Peninsula Hotel for a 3-night stay. One of the finest hotels in the city, The Peninsula Beijing is located just a short walk from the main sights and the famous shopping street of Wangfujing.

Morning visit to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. After lunch, visit the gardens the Summer Palace, then enjoy afternoon tea at the luxury Aman Summer Palace resort.

Drive north from Beijing and visit the legendary Great Wall at Jinshanling, a peaceful and dramatic section of the wall that receives far fewer visitors than other sections of the wall nearer the city. Option to stay at the Dhawa Hotel next to the wall – please enquire for details.
Day 5 : Xian
Location: Xi'An

Early morning departure to Xian by high-speed train. Afternoon arrival in Xian and proceed to the Wild Goose Pagoda, followed by a tour of the Tang Bo Art Museum, which displays a collection of Shaanxi folk art, landscape paintings and contemporary works. Take a lesson in calligraphy at the museum, then transfer to the Sofitel on Renmin Square for a 2-night stay. The following day, take a private tour of the Terracotta Warriors.
Day 7 : Wuhan

Continue to Wuhan by high-speed train. Arrive and transfer to the Shangri-La Hotel for a 1-night stay. Afternoon visit to the 52-metre-high Yellow Crane Tower, set on banks of the Yangtze river and surrounded by gardens and pavilions. Continue to Hubei Provincial Museum, which houses a collection of more than 200,000 historic and cultural relics.

Morning visit to Zijin Shan (Purple Mountain), home to a number of historic sites including the Ling Gu temple, the Zijinshan Astronomical Observatory and the Mausoleum of Dr Sun Yat-sen, the founder of modern China. Afternoon at leisure, with time to visit the Memorial Hall of the Nanjing Massacre, which commemorates all those who were killed during the Japanese occupation of 1937.

If a group tour does not reach its minimum numbers, we will either offer for you to take your holiday on a private basis (which may involve a supplement), or you will be fully refunded.

Why do I have to pay more for my holiday if I am a single traveller?
Most hotels around the world charge more per person for a single occupancy room than for a shared twin room, because the cost of maintaining a room for one person can be almost as high as it is for two. In addition, many single occupancy rooms are the same as twin / double rooms.

Travel documents will be sent approximately two weeks prior to departure (third party suppliers' policies may vary), unless your booking is made within six weeks of departure, in which case final documents will be sent as soon as possible.

Cox & Kings requires a minimum deposit of 15% or the full booking value, whichever is less, with the final balance not due until 75 days before departure.

We don't charge a cancellation fee, here is a summary of cox & kings charges.
Up to 75 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of deposit.
At 74 days before tour starts: Forfeit 30% of booking price.
At 59 days before tour starts: Forfeit 60% of booking price.
At 29 days before tour starts: Forfeit 90% of booking price.
At 14 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of booking price.
