Day 1: Nairobi (Arrival)

Welcome to Nairobi! Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore this fascinating city. Nairobi is not only deemed the wildlife capital of the world, but it is one of the fastest-growing metropolises in all of Africa. You can see lions, zebras, and giraffes in the city as it is filled with national parks and wildlife reserves that are waiting to be explored. Or, in the case of an early morning arrival, you may join any of our optional tours. You will spend the night in the 5-star Nairobi Serena Hotel, regularly voted the “Best Hotel in Nairobi” by international travel magazines and airlines. You can go swimming in the outdoor pool or play a round of golf at the club.

Overnight in Nairobi

Day 2: Nairobi — Masai Mara National Reserve (B/L/D)

After a delicious breakfast, you will depart Nairobi and make your way towards the Masai Mara. This is one of the best places in the world to see The Great Migration take place, as millions of animals make their way from Tanzania to Kenya every year in search of food and water as the seasons start to change. Spend the day driving down the long road, passing by acres of wheat and barley to this legendary national reserve which is teeming with wildlife. You will arrive just in time for lunch — after which you will set off for your first official game drive. See how a whole host of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River as you fend off crocodiles in the process. This will be a phenomenal experience you must not miss — especially during the peak season! After your game drive, you will return to your lodge as the sun sets over the sky. Spend the next couple of nights in the Mara Serena Safari Lodge, situated in the heart of the Mara Triangle. Take in the incredible views of the savannah from your safari lodge which sits high on a bush-cloaked hill as you sip on some fresh fruit juice, refreshing cocktails, fine wines, strong spirits, or tasty liqueurs.

Overnight in the Masai Mara National Reserve Area

Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve (B/L/D)

Following an early morning breakfast, head out for an exhilarating game drive. Spend the first part of your day searching for some of Africas greatest predators, where lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, elephants, wildebeests, impalas, and many more fascinating creatures can be found roaming around the lands. After this incredible experience, you will return to your camp in the mid-morning. Top the morning off by fueling up with a delicious “Bush Breakfast” by the Mara River Hippo Pools. Say “Jambo” (hello) to the chefs and Masai warriors as they welcome you to a wonderful breakfast buffet of cold cuts, fruits, cereals, and hot dishes with eggs made to your specifications. The hippos will keep you company and only say “Kwaheri” (goodbye) after you have had enough. After a delicious lunch (and perhaps a siesta), set out for another game drive and visit the Masai Village, where you will get the opportunity to learn about the local tribes and the traditional ways of life. Return to your beautiful lodge later on as the sun sets.

Overnight in the Masai Mara National Reserve Area

Day 4: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru – Lake Elmenteita (B/L/D)

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, you will travel across the ‘breadbasket of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley are scattered across the land as you make your way up north to Narok — the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. Drive across the vast plains of the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffes and gazelles as you head up the Mai-Mahiu. You will arrive at your destination around midday. Once you are in the park, view the game en route to the lodge. Following lunch, you will set out for an exhilarating game drive, before you return to your lodge as the sun sets. The National Park, known for its abundance of birdlife, offers a wonderful possibility to see flocks of flamingos as thousands or millions of them reside in the area. The Park is also home to Black and White Rhinos as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. You will spend the night in the extravagant Elementaita Serena Camp, situated on the shores of the sapphire-blue lake, where you will find a fascinating mix of modern luxury and aristocratic elegance.

Overnight in the Lake Elementaita Serena Camp

Day 5: Lake Elmenteita — Amboseli National Park (B/L/D)

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, bid farewell to the breathtaking Rift Valley scenery as you head towards Nairobi for an early lunch (or a delightful picnic, depending on road conditions). Then, journey southward towards Amboseli, where you'll reach your lodge by late afternoon.

As an added bonus, during your stay at Lake Elementaita Serena Camp, don't miss the opportunity to explore the rich avian diversity of the Soysambu conservancy. You can partake in a guided bird walk led by a knowledgeable resident naturalist, providing you with the chance to spot some of the 450 bird species that call this region home.

Overnight in the Amboseli National Park Area

Day 6: Amboseli National Park (B/L/D)

Today you will set out for a full-day game drive through Amboseli National Park, with a stop for a picnic lunch. This National Park has so much to offer visitors, between the breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro and the picturesque plains and wetlands. The rich variety of wildlife you might come across includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and hundreds of species of birds. This is also the best place on the planet to get up close to free-ranging elephants! The western section is dominated by the vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside of the rainy season. (As an additional benefit, partake in the Amboseli Tree Planting initiative, contributing to the preservation of Africa's natural beauty and the future of our planet.) You will return to the lodge in the late afternoon, where you may rest and relax in your room or spend some time by the pool before dinner.

Overnight in the Amboseli National Park Area

Day 7: Amboseli – Tarangire National Park (B/L/D)

After enjoying an early breakfast, savor your final glimpses of the awe-inspiring Mount Kilimanjaro before leaving Amboseli. Your journey takes you by road to the Namanga border, where you bid farewell to your Kenyan driver/guide and perhaps some of your fellow travelers who will be returning to Nairobi. You will be greeted by your Tanzanian transfer driver and embark on a road trip to Arusha, where a lunch (excluding drinks) will be served. In Arusha, you will meet any other travelers who are joining the trip, and from there, you'll proceed to Tarangire National Park. As you pass through the park gate, your wildlife viewing adventure begins, and you'll make your way to the lodge, arriving in time for dinner and your overnight stay.

Overnight in the Tarangire National Park Area

Day 8: Tarangire National Park - Lake Manyara National Park (B/L/D)

Today begin your day with a morning safari adventure, followed by a delicious lunch at the lodge. Afterward, embark on your journey to Lake Manyara National Park, where you will reach your lodge nestled high above the Rift Valley escarpment. Here, you will enjoy a delightful dinner and spend the night.

Overnight in the Lake Manyara Area

Day 9: Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park (B/L/D)

After a delicious breakfast, you will head on a game drive through Lake Manyara National Park that will take you back to the lodge for lunch. Leaving Lake Manyara behind, your journey will continue northwest through the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands which is filled with wheat and coffee plantations. From there lies the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you start seeing local wildlife as you approach the entrance gate. Complete the formalities and enter the park with game viewing en route to the lodge, where you will arrive in time for dinner. Spend the next couple of nights in the Serengeti Serena Lodge, which is lavishly decorated with Makonde carvings to showcase the areas traditional art, heritage, and culture. Take in the breathtaking views overlooking the Serengeti from the comfort and convenience of your safari lodge.

Overnight in the Serengeti National Park Area

Day 10: Serengeti National Park (B/L/D)

Today, enjoy breakfast followed by exhilarating morning and afternoon game drives through Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which has in recent times been declared a Worldwide Wonder. This fascinating site is undoubtedly one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Serengeti National Park is located approximately 320 kilometers to the northwest of Arusha, sitting in a high plateau between the Ngorongoro highlands and the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park almost stretches to Lake Victoria to the west, covering a total area of 14,763 square kilometers. Appropriately named the “endless plains” by the Maasai people, you will discover the immensity of the Serengeti as you enter the southeastern plains of the park.

Overnight in the Serengeti National Park Area

Day 11: Serengeti National Park — Ngorongoro Crater (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you will depart Serengeti and travel to Ngorongoro with a picnic lunch stop along the way, where you will get the opportunity to see wildlife roaming through the vast plains of the Serengeti. Discover the lush forest areas which are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, and the lake area, where you may see pink flamingos and open savannahs were lions hunt for food. Later, a picnic lunch will be served in the crater. From there you will continue to your lodge, set high on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, where you will arrive in time for dinner. You will stay at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for the next couple of nights, built from the stones of the nearby river and cloaked in indigenous vines, styled with prehistoric cave paintings and flaming torches.

Overnight in the Ngorongoro Area

Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater (B/L/D)

After an early breakfast, you will set out to explore the Ngorongoro Crater, which is commonly referred to as the worlds largest natural wildlife arena. Prepare to drive to the crater entry gate and descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. A UNESCO-protected World Heritage Site and an International Biosphere Reserve; the Ngorongoro Crater is the worlds largest intact volcanic caldera. The craters of the Ngorongoro are preserved entirely for wildlife, while the rest of the Conservation Area is shared by wildlife, people, and livestock. Due to its great size and rich diversity, the floor of the crater is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forests, swamps, lakes, and springs to open grasslands and sandy dunes. You will set out for a truly unique wildlife experience. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon.

Overnight in the Ngorongoro Area

Booked Mystical Egypt tour with them visiting Cairo and a 03 Nights Cruise from Luxor to Aswan in May. All services were perfect since the time we arrived at the airport, we were met by a hospitable Indus Representative who helped us with the purchase of local SIM and currency exchange. He was always there in time to assist for transfers. The Amwaj Cruise which we took from Luxor to Aswan was a Gem. We had great guides and all sightseeing worked like a clockwork. We enjoyed visiting Karnak Temples, Temples of Edfu, Kom Ombo and the boat ride to see Phillae Temple. Evening entertainment on cruise were great and engaging. In Cairo and Aswan, we had ample leisure time to explore on own, the Pyramids were impressive and visiting Khan e Khalili was fun. Overall and impressive and enjoyable tour, Thanks to Indus Travels!

Indus Travel runs a highly professional organization. From customer service to brochures, bookings, tour guides, etc. and the consideration for their customers is superb. This was the first time I had travelled with Indus Travels. We took the Taste of Portugal Tour. Group numbers are small, accommodation comfortable and food excellent. The expert guide who accompanied us was outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging, and entertaining. This company is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational vacation with fine food - they will deliver! We will never forget this trip and we are already planning for another one to Wonders of Italy, Vienna, Budapest, and Prague.

We were looking for a customized, small group tour. We took a chance on Indus without knowing much about the company. We just returned from our trip to Greece and are more than highly please and satisfied with our experience. They planned an amazing itinerary, booked amazing hotels, hired knowledgeable tour guides and arranged high quality transportation services. Everyone went above and beyond to please us. We are already planning a trip for next year (2024) and will definitely use Indus to do so.

07-Mar-2024

My wife and I along with three friends signed up the tour to Mexico from Indus Travel. The total 12-day Maya Culture trip really gave us opportunities to learn Mexico indigenous cultures thoroughly. We have seen a lot of ruins and pyramids, each of them has different representations and can tell the history of what was happening atthat time. We also had chances to visit the indigenous families toexperence the real Mexican people's life inthe rural area. The views of volcanoes, villages and canyons are also unforgettable. This is a small group with total 7 tourists, our driver/tour guide is a very experienced guide, he explained the history in sequence of events in and out. Most of all with 2500km driving he made us fell safe with his skills. All in all, this trip worths a 5+ star. I was so surprised that Indus Travel assigned a tour coordinator dedicated to our group, Kathlene helped a lot to make the arrangement for the whole trip and made us worry free.

I booked a trip with Indus to South Africa and had a fabulous time! It was easy to book the trip online and any questions I had were answered very quickly by Sabine. The hotels we stayed at were very nice and in good locations. Our tours were well organized and our safari in Kruger National park was definitely a highlight. A few mornings had a bright and early start, but this allowed us to accomplish quite a lot in a day. The hotel restaurants had decent food, which was convenient if we had a longer day and didn't want to go out to eat. Overall, I was very happy with the trip and I felt the price for my tour was excellent value. I would definitely use Indus again!

Exploring Bogota was fantastic - a lively city with so much to see. The Gold Museum was a highlight, taking us on a journey through centuries of history. We spent hours there, fascinated by the detailed exhibits showcasing the rich culture. After Bogota, we flew to St. Andres, a Caribbean paradise. Despite some rain during the 'rainy season,' the island's charm and our packed sightseeing schedule made every moment unforgettable. Activities like mangrove kayaking, snorkeling, and island hopping showcased St. Andres' natural beauty. WE even rescued a sick blue heron during our tour and transferred it to rescue services. The food was another standout. Local cuisine was not only delicious but also budget-friendly, offering a unique blend of flavors. I love seafood especially seviche, and I was trully impress by quality and diversity. But what really made our trip special was the people. Friendliness was everywhere, whether chatting with locals or getting tips on hidden gems. The genuine hospitality added an extra layer of joy to an already amazing journey. Bogota and St. Andres left a lasting impression, going beyond sightseeing to truly experience the heart and soul of these incredible destinations. Big thank you to Indus team, who put together this trip for me. I am looking forward to exploring other South American countries with Indus.

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour taken after Egypt opened back up to tourists, particularly Americans. Went in November and weather was beautiful. Decent hotels and overnight Nile cruise. You will see a lot on this tour and be aware there are some early wake ups. Lots of walking but doable if you're in decent shape. Overall a fun tour with all the sites you have only seen in books!
