Highlights
Itinerary
Day 1: Windhoek (Arrival) (B/-/-)
On arrival, your guide will meet you and escort you to your tour bus to transfer you through Namibias capital in the Northern direction to Otjiwarongo. Named for the springs that emanate from its foothills, the Waterberg Plateau National Park is a fascinating geological site of compressed sandstone crags, ancient dinosaur footprints, and petrified sand dunes. The areas natural water sources make it far more fertile than its environment and the park is blessed with a plethora of plant and animal species, including leopards, rhinoceros, vultures, cheetahs, bush babies, ferns and fig trees.

Day 2: Windhoek - Etosha National Park (B/-/-)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you depart for Etosha National Park this morning. Etosha is one of the most special national parks in Africa, and its distinguishing feature is the giant – 5,000 km² – salt flat known as Etosha Pan. It is so large that it can be seen from space. This gigantic area is the remains of a dried-out lake, and the white, seemingly endless salt flat is a fantastic, almost surreal sight. Despite the extreme conditions, the area is still home to a rich wildlife population, and the park is considered to be one of the very finest places in Africa for observing a variety of animals – particularly around the watering holes, which also attract plenty of migratory birds that come there to breed. In the late afternoon you will have a game drive with your knowledgeable guide.

Day 3: Etosha National Park (B/-/-)
Have a full day game drive in the Etosha National Park, which surrounds a parched salt desert known as the Etosha Pan. The park is home to 4 of the Big Five - elephant, lion, leopard and rhino. Game viewing in the park is largely focussed around the waterholes, some of which are spring fed and some supplied from a borehole, ideal places to sit and watch over 114 different game species, or for an avid birder, in excess of 340 bird species. Popular game species such as giraffe, blue wildebeest, plains and mountain zebra, hyena, lion, leopard, antelopes such as kudu, oryx, eland, as well as some of the endangered species such as Black rhino, cheetah and the black-faced impala are all found here.

Thousands of tourists come to this site each year to view some 2, 500 Stone Age rock engravings. Then you will have a visit to a traditional Himba village. This is also the first registered Orphan Trust Fund in Namibia. The money received for tours to the Himba Village goes into a Trust which is mainly used for food and other necessities. The Omapahe Himba tries to give the local tribe a chance to survive in the western world and tries to depict the proudness of the people, Himba lifestyle, tradition and culture and strives to ensure that future generations will live and thrive at Omapahe and that the project can continue to grow.
