Day 1: Windhoek (Arrival) (B/-/-)

On arrival, your guide will meet you and escort you to your tour bus to transfer you through Namibias capital in the Northern direction to Otjiwarongo. Named for the springs that emanate from its foothills, the Waterberg Plateau National Park is a fascinating geological site of compressed sandstone crags, ancient dinosaur footprints, and petrified sand dunes. The areas natural water sources make it far more fertile than its environment and the park is blessed with a plethora of plant and animal species, including leopards, rhinoceros, vultures, cheetahs, bush babies, ferns and fig trees.

Overnight in Windhoek

Day 2: Windhoek - Etosha National Park (B/-/-)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you depart for Etosha National Park this morning. Etosha is one of the most special national parks in Africa, and its distinguishing feature is the giant – 5,000 km² – salt flat known as Etosha Pan. It is so large that it can be seen from space. This gigantic area is the remains of a dried-out lake, and the white, seemingly endless salt flat is a fantastic, almost surreal sight. Despite the extreme conditions, the area is still home to a rich wildlife population, and the park is considered to be one of the very finest places in Africa for observing a variety of animals – particularly around the watering holes, which also attract plenty of migratory birds that come there to breed. In the late afternoon you will have a game drive with your knowledgeable guide.

Overnight in Etosha National Park area

Day 3: Etosha National Park (B/-/-)

Have a full day game drive in the Etosha National Park, which surrounds a parched salt desert known as the Etosha Pan. The park is home to 4 of the Big Five - elephant, lion, leopard and rhino. Game viewing in the park is largely focussed around the waterholes, some of which are spring fed and some supplied from a borehole, ideal places to sit and watch over 114 different game species, or for an avid birder, in excess of 340 bird species. Popular game species such as giraffe, blue wildebeest, plains and mountain zebra, hyena, lion, leopard, antelopes such as kudu, oryx, eland, as well as some of the endangered species such as Black rhino, cheetah and the black-faced impala are all found here.

Overnight in Etosha National Park area

Day 4: Etosha National Park - Twyfelfontein (B/-/-)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will set out on an adventure to the rock art of Damaraland. Twyfelfontein is a World Heritage Site boasting one of the richest rock art concentrations in Africa. Thousands of tourists come to this site each year to view some 2, 500 Stone Age rock engravings. Then you will have a visit to a traditional Himba village. This is also the first registered Orphan Trust Fund in Namibia. The money received for tours to the Himba Village goes into a Trust which is mainly used for food and other necessities. The Omapahe Himba tries to give the local tribe a chance to survive in the western world and tries to depict the proudness of the people, Himba lifestyle, tradition and culture and strives to ensure that future generations will live and thrive at Omapahe and that the project can continue to grow.

Overnight in Twyfelfontein

Day 5: Twyfelfontein - Swakopmund (B/-/-)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you travel to Swakopmund via Uis. Reaching the coastal harbour town of Henties Bay, you can stop at the ocean and take a deep breath of fresh ocean air before continuing along scenic road along the Atlantic Ocean to reach Swakopmund. After check in, you have free time to explore Swakopmund as you please.

Overnight in Swakopmund

Day 6: Swakopmund (B/-/-)

Today you will have a tour of Swakopmund Town with your guide in a coach bus. This tour takes you to Walvis Bay, where you board a cruise from the harbour through to the Bird Island, and then cut across the lagoon to moored Russian trawlers where inquisitive seals will swim up to the boats for something to eat. From there, head for Pelican Point where entertainment is provided by a large seal colony and schools of dolphins swimming alongside the boats. Dolphins that can be sighted are the Heaviside and Bottlenose. The rest of the afternoon will be yours to enjoy at leisure.

Overnight in Swakopmund

Day 7: Swakopmund - Sossuvlei (B/-/-)

Today you will depart for Sossusvlei via Walvis Bay. Your guide will stop at the lagoon for a chance to view the flamingos before continuing to the very hot Sossusvlei. Once you arrive at your accommodation clients can settle in and relax. You may explore the surroundings or spend the afternoon at the sparkling pool.

Overnight in Sossusvlei

Day 8: Sossuvlei (B/-/-)

An early morning will be rewarded with the awesome sight of seeing the colours of the dunes change from Brown to orange, ochre to apricot and all shades in-between. You will enter the Park at sunrise and make your way towards the 4x2 parking area where you will leave your vehicle and take the 4x4 shuttle into the vlei. Once arrived in Sossusvlei you can climb some of the highest dunes in the world, walk the 1.1 km to Deadvlei which allows for incredible photos. Return to the gate but first stop at the Sesriem Canyon which often in the rainy season is filled with water. Return to the lodge in the afternoon to relax and or enjoy a dip in the sparkling pool to cool off.

Overnight in Sossusvlei

Day 9: Sossuvlei - Windhoek (B/-/-)

Have breakfast this morning before your transfer to Windhoek. Windhoek, Namibias capital city, is described as a city with a ‘continental atmosphere and this can be ascribed to its architecture – historical buildings dating back to German colonial rule. En route to your hotel you will have a panoramic city tour with a guide to introduce you to the capital city.

Booked Mystical Egypt tour with them visiting Cairo and a 03 Nights Cruise from Luxor to Aswan in May. All services were perfect since the time we arrived at the airport, we were met by a hospitable Indus Representative who helped us with the purchase of local SIM and currency exchange. He was always there in time to assist for transfers. The Amwaj Cruise which we took from Luxor to Aswan was a Gem. We had great guides and all sightseeing worked like a clockwork. We enjoyed visiting Karnak Temples, Temples of Edfu, Kom Ombo and the boat ride to see Phillae Temple. Evening entertainment on cruise were great and engaging. In Cairo and Aswan, we had ample leisure time to explore on own, the Pyramids were impressive and visiting Khan e Khalili was fun. Overall and impressive and enjoyable tour, Thanks to Indus Travels!

Indus Travel runs a highly professional organization. From customer service to brochures, bookings, tour guides, etc. and the consideration for their customers is superb. This was the first time I had travelled with Indus Travels. We took the Taste of Portugal Tour. Group numbers are small, accommodation comfortable and food excellent. The expert guide who accompanied us was outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging, and entertaining. This company is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational vacation with fine food - they will deliver! We will never forget this trip and we are already planning for another one to Wonders of Italy, Vienna, Budapest, and Prague.

We were looking for a customized, small group tour. We took a chance on Indus without knowing much about the company. We just returned from our trip to Greece and are more than highly please and satisfied with our experience. They planned an amazing itinerary, booked amazing hotels, hired knowledgeable tour guides and arranged high quality transportation services. Everyone went above and beyond to please us. We are already planning a trip for next year (2024) and will definitely use Indus to do so.

My wife and I along with three friends signed up the tour to Mexico from Indus Travel. The total 12-day Maya Culture trip really gave us opportunities to learn Mexico indigenous cultures thoroughly. We have seen a lot of ruins and pyramids, each of them has different representations and can tell the history of what was happening atthat time. We also had chances to visit the indigenous families toexperence the real Mexican people's life inthe rural area. The views of volcanoes, villages and canyons are also unforgettable. This is a small group with total 7 tourists, our driver/tour guide is a very experienced guide, he explained the history in sequence of events in and out. Most of all with 2500km driving he made us fell safe with his skills. All in all, this trip worths a 5+ star. I was so surprised that Indus Travel assigned a tour coordinator dedicated to our group, Kathlene helped a lot to make the arrangement for the whole trip and made us worry free.

I booked a trip with Indus to South Africa and had a fabulous time! It was easy to book the trip online and any questions I had were answered very quickly by Sabine. The hotels we stayed at were very nice and in good locations. Our tours were well organized and our safari in Kruger National park was definitely a highlight. A few mornings had a bright and early start, but this allowed us to accomplish quite a lot in a day. The hotel restaurants had decent food, which was convenient if we had a longer day and didn't want to go out to eat. Overall, I was very happy with the trip and I felt the price for my tour was excellent value. I would definitely use Indus again!

Exploring Bogota was fantastic - a lively city with so much to see. The Gold Museum was a highlight, taking us on a journey through centuries of history. We spent hours there, fascinated by the detailed exhibits showcasing the rich culture. After Bogota, we flew to St. Andres, a Caribbean paradise. Despite some rain during the 'rainy season,' the island's charm and our packed sightseeing schedule made every moment unforgettable. Activities like mangrove kayaking, snorkeling, and island hopping showcased St. Andres' natural beauty. WE even rescued a sick blue heron during our tour and transferred it to rescue services. The food was another standout. Local cuisine was not only delicious but also budget-friendly, offering a unique blend of flavors. I love seafood especially seviche, and I was trully impress by quality and diversity. But what really made our trip special was the people. Friendliness was everywhere, whether chatting with locals or getting tips on hidden gems. The genuine hospitality added an extra layer of joy to an already amazing journey. Bogota and St. Andres left a lasting impression, going beyond sightseeing to truly experience the heart and soul of these incredible destinations. Big thank you to Indus team, who put together this trip for me. I am looking forward to exploring other South American countries with Indus.

11-Jul-2023

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour taken after Egypt opened back up to tourists, particularly Americans. Went in November and weather was beautiful. Decent hotels and overnight Nile cruise. You will see a lot on this tour and be aware there are some early wake ups. Lots of walking but doable if you're in decent shape. Overall a fun tour with all the sites you have only seen in books!
